M/S Bihar Foundry and Castings Limited was incorporated in the year 1971 with its registered office at Shanti Niwas, Main Road, Ranchi (Jharkhand). The company is currently engaged in manufacturing of Steel Ingots , Ferro- Alloys (Silico Manganese) and Sponge Iron having its unit at Ramgarh Cantt.( Approx. 48kms from Ranchi ) in Ramgarh Industrial Area, Ramgarh.

Patnaik Minerals Pvt. Ltd. (PMPL) was originally founded in 1955 by Late Bansidhar Patnaik, one of the pioneers of mining in the state of Orissa and a visionary entrepreneur who made significant contribution to the development of the Keonjhar district in Orissa.

PMPL's business operations of Mining of Iron Ore & Manganese in Joda-Barbil region of Keonjhar district in Orissa, and Limestone & Dolomite in Rourkela region of Sundergarh district of Orissa were managed effectively for over 40 years by Late Rabindra Nath Patnaik and Shri Akhilendra Nath Patnaik with the active support of Shri Jitendra Nath Patnaik.

The company has emerged as a major producer of high grade calibrated iron ore (Fe +65%) for the raw material requirement of the Sponge Iron & Pig Iron plants in the region.

The company diversified its business activities into Logistics & Infrastructure, Sponge Iron manufacturing, Renewable Energy & Mineral Beneficiation under the stewardship of Shri. S. K. Patnaik who is currently heading the company as its Managing Director. Haldia Steels Ltd.

Incorporated in 1996, HSL is currently engaged in the production of ferro alloys, sponge iron and billets. The manufacturing facilities of the company are located at Durgapur of West Bengal, with the capacities of 36,000 TPA of ferro alloys, 1,20,000 TPA of sponge iron and 1,20,000 TPA of billets. HSL also has a waste heat based captive power plant of 8 MW. Besides HSL, the other group companies engaged in the steel business include Brand Alloys Limited, Ispat Damodar Limited and Sonic Thermal Limited.
